Deputies Safely End Vehicle Pursuit in Cornelia Area

Deputies with the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office were involved in a brief vehicle pursuit Thursday afternoon that ended safely with no injuries.

According to a post on the sheriff’s office Facebook page, the pursuit began just before 1 p.m. in Cornelia and continued onto Cannon Bridge Road. Deputies were able to bring the situation to a controlled stop within approximately five minutes using a PIT maneuver.

Officials said no other vehicles were involved in the incident, and no injuries were reported.

The driver was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Habersham County Detention Center.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash that resulted from the PIT maneuver.

No additional details have been released at this time.
