CLARKESVILLE, Ga. — Habersham County residents are invited to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary this Saturday with a free, family-friendly event at the Habersham County Courthouse.
The celebration will take place Saturday, July 11, and will feature activities for all ages, including free Kona Ice, free hot dogs, children’s activities, and the unveiling of the courthouse’s historic bell.
The event will also include a Liberty Tree dedication, commemorating one of America’s enduring symbols of freedom during the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration.
Families will have the opportunity to cool off with complimentary Kona Ice while supplies last, and Commissioner Bruce Harkness is sponsoring free hot dogs for attendees.
Children can also enjoy a variety of activities, including a Habersham County Fire Rescue fire truck inflatable.
The event is part of the nationwide celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, with communities across the country hosting special programs leading up to the nation’s milestone birthday in 2026.
Organizers encourage residents of all ages to attend and take part in the community celebration at the Habersham County Courthouse.
