Hey Habersham Podcast Returns After Two-Year Hiatus, Welcomes Joel Williams as First Guest

The Hey Habersham Podcast is returning after a two-year hiatus, and its first guest will be a voice known to generations of North Georgia listeners: Joel Williams.

A Clarkesville native, Williams has built a long career in broadcasting that has taken him from his earliest days in local radio to stations across Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia. He spent 17 years at WDUN in Gainesville, worked at WYAY-FM, and became a familiar presence on WCON-FM in North Georgia.

Now, Williams is preparing for another milestone: induction into the Friends of Georgia Radio Hall of Fame.

For the first episode of the podcast’s return, Williams will share the stories behind his career, the local connections that helped shape it, and the moments that made a life in radio anything but predictable.

Williams has worked with some of broadcasting’s most recognizable names, navigated unexpected on-air challenges, and spent years covering the people, news and events that matter to North Georgia communities. But the full stories are best heard in his own voice.

The return of the Hey Habersham Podcast begins with a conversation about radio, hometown roots, mentors, memorable moments, and the enduring appeal of connecting with listeners one story at a time.

Listen for the new episode featuring Joel Williams, coming soon.
