Votes written in for Jackson will not be counted in the Nov. 3 election.
Abby Jackson has withdrawn as a write-in candidate for supervisor of the Upper Chattahoochee River Soil & Water Conservation District.
Habersham County Election Supervisor Laurel Ellison announced the withdrawal in a public notice dated Sept. 2.
“Any votes written in for Abby Jackson will not be counted and will not be listed on final election results for the November 3, 2026 General/Special Elections,” the notice states.
Because Jackson was running as a write-in candidate, voters wishing to support her would have needed to write her name on the ballot. Following her withdrawal, those votes will have no effect on the election results.
The public notice did not give a reason for Jackson’s withdrawal.
