January 18, 1947 – September 12, 2026 (79)

Norma Lee Eller Brewer

Norma Lee Eller Brewer, age 79, wife of Reggie Brewer, of Mount Airy, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Mrs. Brewer was born on January 18, 1947 in Rabun County, Georgia to the late Jewel Jay Anderson Eller and Mildred Malinda Jean Watkins Eller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Simmons Brewer; and her granddaughter, Kimberly Brewer; brother, Dale Watkins; nieces, Jacqueline Renee Eller, Mandy Watkins, and nephew, Wesley Watkins.

Norma was of the Church of God Faith and found comfort and strength in her faith throughout her life. She was also proud of her career with the Department of Corrections, where she served as a Correctional Officer for more than a decade. Her dedication to her work reflected the strength, determination, and sense of responsibility that were such an important part of who she was.

While Norma took great pride in her career, her greatest joy and accomplishment was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Affectionately known as “Nanny” to many, she cherished the time she spent with her family and created memories that will remain in their hearts for generations to come. Her love, wisdom, and presence will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. In her quieter moments, Norma enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid reader who could often be found immersed in a good book. She also enjoyed relaxing and watching her favorite television shows. These moments reflected the warmth and contentment she found in the everyday things she loved.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Reginald “Reggie” Vernon Brewer, of Mt. Airy; daughter and son-in-law, Gail Brewer-Eller and Ricky Eller, of Alto; son, James Edward “Ed” Brewer, of Seneca, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Lant Jay and Rosie Eller, of Demorest; grandchildren, Jessica Hess Thompson and her husband, Steven, of Demorest; Adam Brewer, of Seneca, SC; great-grandchildren, Natalie Brewer, of Seneca; Brennan Brewer, Caleb Brewer, both of St. Marys, GA; Mackenzie Jones and Colton Thompson, both of Demorest; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory, North Chapel at 245 Central Avenue, Demorest, Georgia 30535. Telephone: 706-778-1700.
