Betty Brock Freeman

Betty Brock Freeman, age 78, of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

Born in Banks County, Georgia, on July 13, 1948, she was a daughter of the late J.W. Brock and Bonnie Mae Loudermilk Brock.

Betty was a devoted homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it was enjoying a good cup of coffee or settling in to watch some of her favorite television programs, including Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and The Dukes of Hazzard. Above all, Betty's greatest joy was the love of her family, especially her beloved son, Michael, who held a very special place in her heart. The precious moments spent together, the laughter shared, and the love she gave so freely will remain treasured memories for those who knew and loved her. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde Freeman; sisters, Addalene Sigers and Cora Lee Simmons; brother, Johnny Brock; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Frady.

Survivors include her son, Michael Freeman, and his fiancée, Abbey Sue Bonner, and her children, Jayden Scott Bonner, Harleigh Grace Bonner, and Lainey Nicole Bonner; sister-in-law, Jean Frady; nephew, Henry Simmons; niece, Diane Garrison; special great-nephew, Rhylan Simmons; as well as other relatives and friends.

In accordance with Betty's wishes, she will be cremated, and a private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home of Cornelia, Georgia (706-778-8668) is honored to serve the family of Betty Brock Freeman.
