DEMOREST, Ga – The Piedmont University Wind Ensemble will present its Spring Concert on Thurs., Apr. 9, 2026, at 7:30 P.M. in the Piedmont University Chapel. The program will feature a diverse repertoire spanning traditional wind band classics and contemporary works, including music by Gustav Holst, Richard Wagner, Vittorio Monti, John Philip Sousa, Frank Ticheli, Katahj Copley, and Patrick Roszell.
In addition to Piedmont student musicians representing academic disciplines from across campus, the ensemble includes guest performers from Lanier Technical College, Habersham Central High School, Stephens County High School, Wilbanks Middle School, South Habersham Middle School, and North Habersham Middle School. The collaborative performance highlights Piedmont’s commitment to regional arts education and mentorship.
The ensemble is conducted by Dr. Emery Claude Warnock. Dr. Timothy F. Lytle, Butman Professor of Religion and Professor of Philosophy & Religion, will serve as concert host.
The evening will feature Piedmont University Music Performance major Ms. Yasmi Velasquez performing Vittorio Monti’s Czárdás on alto saxophone. Piedmont University Music Education majors Ms. Nico Lankford and Ms. Kaedy Land will also take the podium as student conductors.
