Habersham County residents are invited to honor the nation’s fallen service members during a Memorial Day ceremony hosted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7720 on Monday, May 25.
The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. at the VFW Memorial Park, located at 1492 Smith Loop Road in Demorest.
The memorial park is owned and maintained by VFW Post 7720 and serves as the site for several ceremonies throughout the year, including Memorial Day observances, Veterans Day events, and military burial honors for members of the post.
Memorial Day is observed annually to remember and honor members of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to the country.
Community members are encouraged to attend the ceremony as local veterans, families and supporters gather to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
